Wellness Center USA’s Cognitive Science Clinic Treatments Showing Promise for Library Rape Victim

FOX NEWS Reports On Human Tragedy and Jubilation Story

SCHAUMBURG, IL -- Wellness Center USA, Inc. (WCUI), a Schaumburg, IL company focused in the healthcare, alternative healthcare and medical device industries, is pleased to announce that its Cognitive Neuro Sciences (CNS-Wellness “CNS”) clinic and its chief neuropsychologist Dr. William A Lambos, were the subject of a recent feature story by Fox News. The report is about a young woman who was brutally beaten and raped outside of the Bloomingdale Library in Valrico in 2008 near Tampa, FL and suffered extensive brain damage as a result of the attack. It left her unable to walk or even talk. Her family says new therapy technology is bringing about improvements in her condition and wants to share her story of encouragement, hope and human spirit with everyone so that others with similar experiences may share in this family’s hope and optimism.

Fox News reporter Kristin Wright visited the CNS-Wellness facility in Tampa on January 21st, 2013, with a film crew to report on the near miraculous progress being made by the young woman whose brutal rape, beating and attempted murder by drowning in 2008 shook the city of Tampa. As a result of the assault some four years ago, the now 22-year-old rape victim has not been able to walk or talk since the attack and drowning. According to this report, she is suddenly making astonishing progress under the care of Dr. William A Lambos, CNS’s chief neuropsychologist. This heartbreaking story is reported with sensitivity and depth by Fox News reporter Kristin Wright. It can be viewed now on the Fox News website at:

The CNS-Wellness clinic facility, located in the Tampa Bay area, has been in operation since 2009 and has treated more than 485 patients suffering from various developmental, behavioral and trauma related brain disorders. The clinic is comprised of psychologists, mental health and rehabilitation professionals who specialize in training individuals through QEEG-guided Biofeedback to change the way their brain functions by allowing them to control their electroencephalogram (EEG), or brain waves. Based on solid scientific research from the fields of neurophysiology, psychology, learning and medicine, this technique is changing the way many brain dysfunctions are treated. Patients have been successfully treated “drug free” for a host of mental health issues including chronic pain, stress, anxiety, migraines, ADD/ADHD, depression and more.

During the interview the reporter pointed out that “..the treatment (which) is called multimodal neurotherapy… are literally re-training her brain.” Adding, “..the therapy is incredible science.”

Dr. Lambos stated during the interview that, “certain areas of the brain are not receiving messages from other parts of the brain telling them to coordinate their activity. We think it's a reasonable expectation that she may be able to walk relatively normal again.” Dr. Lambos cautioned that it's difficult to say to what extent her brain can be repaired. However, a family member stated during the news segment that “We're so unbelievably grateful to have her in our lives and we can see that constant improvement.”

WCUI is currently working across several fronts to grow the CNS approach to neurotherapy into a nationally recognized chain of treatment clinics. Talks are in the advanced stages for opening a second CNS clinic in the North Miami area early in 2013, more clinics in other cities and states to follow.

Also under development is a consulting contract with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Wounded Warrior program to provide similar services to an expanding number of our country’s combat veterans who suffer from traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress disorder, among other issues.
